Sustainable IT

Your IT's environmental footprint, measured and prioritized.

Green IT brings energy, emissions, assets, data centers, cloud, software and disposal into a single dashboard, with a traceable origin for every measurement. And it ranks opportunities by carbon avoided per investment.

Overview

IT has a footprint too, and it belongs in your ESG inventory.

Servers, cooling, workstations, cloud and equipment disposal consume energy and generate emissions that rarely show up clearly in reports. Green IT measures this footprint the same way as any other measurement — site, account and traceable origin — using the Brazilian grid emission factor published by MCTI.

The measurements feed the Environmental pillar of Sustenext, which calculates Scope 2 with official factors. Your IT footprint stops being a side spreadsheet and becomes part of the same auditable inventory.

Why measure

From inventory to decision

Challenge

With Green IT

  1. 01Challenge: IT consumption is scattered across energy bills, the CMDB and cloud invoices.

With Green IT: Inventory, telemetry and cloud accounts come together in one dashboard, with the origin of every figure.

  2. 02Challenge: Efficiency initiatives compete for budget without a common criterion.

With Green IT: Opportunities are ranked by carbon avoided per investment.

  3. 03Challenge: Decommissioned equipment leaves without proof of where it went.

With Green IT: Each disposal batch keeps its destination, partner and certificate, as Brazil's National Solid Waste Policy requires.

  4. 04Challenge: Software emissions don't appear in any report.

With Green IT: Each digital service has its carbon intensity per transaction, using the SCI method.

Modules

Six areas, one footprint

Each module covers one part of IT, and they all add up in the same dashboard.

  • 01

    IT footprint dashboard

Energy, emissions, data center efficiency and disposal in one place, with opportunities prioritized by carbon avoided per investment.

  • 02

    Asset inventory

Every piece of equipment with consumption, emissions, age and life-cycle stage, from the CMDB and telemetry connectors, with no side spreadsheet.

  • 03

    Data centers and cloud

Each data center's PUE against its target, and the footprint of cloud accounts with the grid carbon intensity of each region. Simulate shifting workloads to lower-intensity windows and regions.

  • 04

    Software and digital efficiency

The carbon intensity of each digital service per transaction, using the Green Software Foundation's SCI method, with a carbon budget per service.

  • 05

    Life cycle and disposal

Batches of decommissioned equipment with destination, partner and certificate, in a chain of custody that serves as evidence under Brazil's National Solid Waste Policy.

  • 06

    Green IT maturity

A self-assessment across six dimensions, aligned with Auto IMM practices and the ITIL continual improvement cycle, where each gap becomes an action plan initiative.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Didn't find the answer? Talk to our team.

Is Green IT a Sustenext module?

No. Green IT is a standalone Takter product that integrates with Sustenext. IT measurements enter the Environmental pillar of the ESG inventory the same way as any other measurement.

Where does the data come from?

From the asset inventory in the CMDB, telemetry connectors, energy bills and the footprint reports of cloud providers. Every measurement keeps its origin, so the figure can be audited.

Which emission factor does the calculation use?

For grid electricity, the National Interconnected System factor published by MCTI. In the cloud, the grid carbon intensity of each region.

How is equipment disposal recorded?

In batches, with the destination (reuse, donation, recycling or reverse logistics), the partner and the disposal certificate. The certificate is kept as evidence, along with the batch's chain of custody.

How does it relate to Auto IMM?

Green IT's maturity assessment follows Auto IMM's sustainable IT practices and the ITIL continual improvement cycle. Auto IMM measures the maturity of IT processes, and Green IT measures their environmental footprint.
